PQ on positions of trust remains unanswered over two years later

Health minister Konrad Mizzi tells Opposition MP that data on persons of trust at ministry still being collated, 28 months after it was first asked

A parliamentary question on persons of trust within the ministry of health and energy remains unanswered, over two years since it was first asked.

In response to a PQ by shadow health minister Claudette Buttigieg, health and energy minister Konrad Mizzi said that the requested information is “still being collated”.

The original PQ was tabled back in November 2013 by Opposition MP Claudio Grech to then health minister Godfrey Farrugia.

Grech had asked Farrugia for details on positions of trust within his ministry – their names, their positions, the date on which they were appointed, their academic qualifications, their salaries and perks, and the names of the people who had handpicked them to the roles.

He had also asked for details of their predecessors - including their current jobs, whether they too were appointed on a trust basis, and whether they were forced out of their jobs.

The same PQ was submitted five more times in the subsequent two years – once to Farrugia and four times to his successor Konrad Mizzi.
