$150 million superyacht Amevi in Malta for refit works

One of the world’s largest luxury yachts, Amevi, has been spotted in Malta attracting the curiosity and envy of yacht fans.

The 80-metre superyacht, making it the 34th largest in the world, is currently berthed at the Grand Harbour Marina and will be undergoing refitting works.

The $150 million yacht, which is available for charter, boasts eight VIP staterooms with twin and quarter-sized cabins with en suite bathrooms and large TV sets in each room.

According to superyachtfan.com, a large jacuzzi for all guests is also available, along with two outdoor bars.

The dream yacht belongs to Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, whose ArcelorMittal is the largest steel producer in the world. He lives in London and was ranked the sixth richest person in the world by Forbes magazine in 2011.

The Amevi, registered in Bikini, the Marshall Islands, was in Mykonos and Olbia before heading to Malta for refits.

It is understood that the yacht will be undergoing refitting works at the Melita Shipyard after a number of workers employed by Melita Power Diesel were spotted on the yacht. Other yachts known to have used Melita Shipyard’s services include the 70-metre Martha Ann, the 67-metre Garcon, the 58- metre Baraka and the 45-metre Kriss.
