Holds police responsible for not stopping family breeding dogs

A Birkirkara resident has filed a judicial protest, holding the Police Commissioner responsible for the consequences of not taking any action to stop dog breeding in an apartment above his.

Joseph Galea, from Bwieraq Street in Birkirkara, filed a judicial protest this morning, calling on Police Commissioner John Rizzo to take immediate and all necessary action to stop the breeding of German Shepherd dogs in the apartment above his.

Galea said that the Grixti family, have been breeding these dogs and making a business out of it, causing him a nuisance with regular blockages to the drains due to quantities of dog hair, and noise coming from constant barking.

He said that he had approached the Grixti's who although had said that they would be more considerate, they persisted in breeding, and advertising the sale of the dogs under a business name 'GRIXAL GSD'.

Galea claimed that despite the police issuing charges against the Grixti's, nothing else has been done and the breeding still continues.

He concluded by saying that when a policeman enters a bar playing loud music, he would be ordered to shut the music off. "Why isn't this happening in this case?" Galea asked.
