A 55-year-old Sudanese man who lives in Balzan was certified as being in danger of dying after he allegedly suffered injuries during an argument at a house in Triq id-Duluri, Hamrun.

The police said that, at around 10pm on Friday, two men reported the argument at the Hamrun police station. The clothes of the people involved were drenched in blood and the police therefore called a medic team for assistance.

From early investigations, police found out that, during an earlier argument at 6:30pm, the 55-year-old Sudanese man was struck by a sharp weapon and suffered serious injuries. The other man, a 46-year-old Sudanese who also lives in Hamrun, was certified as having suffered light injuries.

A Somali man is assisting the police in their ongoing investigations. Magistrate Carol Peralta was informed of the case and he appointed a number of experts to assist him in an inquiry.
