Racing horse goes wild injuring man

A 43-year-old man of Dingli was grievously injured when he tried to control a racing horse that went wild.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm at old racecourse in Marsa.

According to the police, a 25-year-old jockey was thrown off the sulky during the race, as the horse went wild. The older man intervened to control the horse, when he got injured.

The jockey escaped unharmed.

A police investigation is underway.
