Briton grievously injured after being hit by car … on Mater Dei ring road

A 45-year-old Briton was grievously injured this morning after being hit by a car on the Mater Dei hospital ring road.

Police were informed of the accident at around 6.30am and went immediately on site.

Preliminary investigations showed that the British man, a resident of Swatar, was hit by a Tata car driven by a 50-year-old man from Birzebbugia.

An ambulance was called on site to transfer the 45-year-old man to Mater Dei for further treatment.

He was later certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
