An elderly woman has been grievously hurt after she was hit by a car in Santa Venera on Monday evening.
The incident occurred at 5.45pm in Triq il-Ferrovija.
The police said an investigation revealed that an 80-year-old woman, who lives in Santa Venera, was hit by a Kia Ceres, driven by a 51-year-old man from Birkirkara.
An ambulance took the woman to Mater Dei Hospital to be treated for her injuries.
An investigation is under way.
