Woman critical after being crushed by truck in Gozo

A 61-year-old woman is in a critical condition after being hit by a truck in a freak accident in Marsalforn, Gozo.

The police said that the incident happened at noon on Friday in Pjazza San Pawl in Marsalforn. A spokesperson said that the woman, a Chinese national who lives in Marsalforn, was hit by an Iveco truck which was parked in the square and which for some reason, started moving.

The woman was taken to Gozo General Hospital, where she was certified as having sustained life threatening injuries.

A magisterial inquiry has been launched.
