Notice to voters

The Electoral Commission has issued notices for special voting documents and declaration of oath from abroad

The Electoral Commission notifies voters who wish to vote in advance in Naxxar on 27 May 2017, due to being abroad on 3 June 2017, and who cannot be in Malta to effect the sworn declaration by the deadline (noon of 26 May 2017) that they may attend at the embassy or High Commission of their choice to effect the sworn statement thereat.

A list of Commissioners of Oaths available is displayed on the Commission’s website https://electoral.gov.mt/OathsEN. The list also displays their e-addresses such that appointments can be made in advance.

The sworn declaration (scanned) must be received at the Commission’s address [email protected] by not later than noon (Malta time) of Friday, 26 May 2017.

Special Voting Documents

Voters who:

  • after receipt of their voting document have lost or otherwise substantially damaged or destroyed their document, 
  • although their name appears  in the Electoral Register published on 6th May, 2017, as revised by the decisions of  the Revising Officer,  have not as yet received their voting document because of some special reason, including that the Commission is not  in possession of their photograph,

may apply with immediate effect personally to one of the Electoral Commissioners for a Special Voting Document.  

The voters need to visit the Office of the Electoral Commission at the Naxxar Counting Complex and present their identification card.   

Office hours will be as follows:

Monday to Friday: from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: from 8.00 a.m. to noon

Wednesday, 31st May (last day): from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 3.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

Voters who are registered in the Thirteenth electoral division (Gozo and Comino) may call at the Identity Cards Office, Rabat, Gozo,  during the same office hours.

Nobody shall be allowed to vote without a voting document.
