Fines for flouting COVID-19 restrictions hit 1,545 last week

1,545 persons were found flouting COVID-19 regulation and fined by enforcement officials last week.  

The information was published on the Covid19 Malta Facebook page.  

1,289 people were not wearing a mask. 

In recently introduced regulation, people have been barred from congregating in groups of larger than four people. 148 people were fined.  

108 people were also fined for breaking the two-household rule when meeting up with other people at a private residence.   

Six people also broke quarantine.
