The Minister for Resources and Rural Affairs Goeorge Pullicino said that the water park project in Bugibba will consist of water games and other facilities, including a guard room, toilet facilities and a pump room.

In a reply to a Parliamentary question tabled by former PN minister Censu Galea, the minister said the enclosed area will cover 800 square metres and the area will be divided into areas for different age groups.

The project on the Bugibba promenade is planned to be only used during the day but will be "adequately lighted for security reasons and in case the park is used in the evening."

He added that the adjacent street will be resurfaced and trees will be planted around the fenced water park.

In a separate question, also tabled by the twelfth district MP Censu Galea, Tourism Minister Mario De Marco explained that the Qawra and St Paul's Bay promenade will not only include the aquarium project "but other spaces will be added for the benefit of the public."

De Marco explained that the spaces will include the water park, an extension of the promenade by 5500 square metres and a 4000 square metre parking space at street level.

Other facilities below street level will include a landscaping project stretching over 4000 square metres including a pool and an underground parking facility covering 2500 square metres.

The minister added that other facilities will comprise a Diving Institute, a restaurant and a Tourist Information Kiosk.
