The sixth edition of the volleyball marathon at Dar tal-Providenza in Siggiewi has been announced.

Parliamentary secretary for youth Chris Agius visited the event this morning while Opposition leader Simon Busuttil will be making an appearance on Sunday morning.

Last year, over €450,000 were raised in aid of Dar tal-Providenza. Organisers hope that the World Cup fever will not stop Maltese from visiting the annual marathon.

The marathon is being held at the residence's car park and some 40 players are expected to take party. The marathon lasts between 53 and 54 hours.

The residence offers a family atmosphere to various disabled persons who, for some reason or another, can not live within the community. The house also offers a respite service to families of disabled persons and works on projects for the inclusion of residents in the community.
