PN calls on government for greater police presence in Sliema, St Julian's

Following spate of thefts in Sliema and St Julian's, the opposition calls on government to deploy more police officers in localities

The opposition today called on government to deploy more police officers in the Sliema and St Julian’s districts to address the growing rate of criminality.

MP Jason Azzopardi said the increase in thefts from residences in Sliema and St Julian’s requires a greater police presence was a result of government’s decision to stop training district officers.

Reminding that the PN had criticized this decision, Azzopardi said “unfortunately the opposition has been proved right, therefore the PN reteriates its call to recommence the training of district officers immediately.”
