NGOs have received a total of €3.6 million in public funds this year as part of a governmental fund allocation programme, Civil Liberties Minister Helena Dalli said.
Speaking during the fourth fund-allocation session this year, Dalli asserted the government’s commitment to helping voluntary NGOs.
"A sign of this commitment is the fact that we've opened the first NGO Hub for voluntary organisation in Valletta eight days ago," Dalli said. "The second such centre will open in Qawra early next year, while works are ongoing to build a third one in the south of Malta."
The latest financial grant was handed out to 20 NGOs- Caritas, aditus fondation, Cana Movement, Dar il-Kaptan, Dar Merħba Bik, Dar Osana Pia, Equal Partners Foundation, Fondazzjoni Nazareth, Dar Fra Diegu, Inspire, SOS Malta, St Jeanne Antide Foundation, Dar Suret il-Bniedem, Richmond Foundation, Malta Autism Centre, Malta Gay Rights Movement, Mid-Dlam għad-Dawl, Istitut Paola Freire, Rise and the Catholic Institute.
