A reform of the process by which the judiciary is appointed is on the cards, according the justice minister Owen Bonnici, but only as part of a broader review of the entire system. This assertion came in the wake of four appointments the government made while ignoring recommendations by a justice reform commission.

A company owned by a prominent Labour activist, TEC Malta Limited, has been issued four direct orders from the government for the provision of events services, to the tune of a total of €200,000.

PM Joseph Muscat said that while alternative sites for the new university would be considered, the project would be going through and it would be in the south of the island.

The proposed university has united everyone against Joseph Muscat, said Opposition leader Simon Busuttil. The PM called on NGOs to submit 'studied' alternative locations for the project.
