A boat carrying some 550 migrants capsized off the coast of Libya yesterday, with about 150 persons remaining unaccounted for. 25 people have already been confirmed dead while nearly 400 had been rescued in an operation involving eight vessels.

PN deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami has maintained that his familiarity with Mark Gaffarena went only so far as knowing what he looks like. Former parliamentarian Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando claimed that Fenech Adami had eaten meals with Gaffarena on more than one occasion.

No Air Malta cabin crew will be losing their jobs, CEO Philip Micallef said. Temporary staff, recruited by the airline to meet an increased summer demand, have a fixed contract that expires at the end of the summer period.
