Magistrate Carol Peralta has stressed that he has retired from his post and not resigned, as was erroneously reported in a press statement from the justice ministry. Peralta faced investigation over a Christmas party he held in his courtroom in 2013 and the arrest of a journalist who took pictures of the incident.
