Customs seizes over €13,000 in cash from Kiev-bound traveller

Customs officials stationed at the airport this morning seized €13,650 from a Maltese man travelling to Kiev via Istanbul.

According to the Customs Department, the man claimed the cash was “traveling money.”

The economic crimes unit was informed and the man was allowed to travel and will be taken to court upon his return, the Customs Department said.
