University increases security following spate of thefts

The University of Malta has increased security patrols following a spate of minor thefts, Illum reports.

Weekly newspaper Illum reports how emails have been circulating among employees working within the Faculty for Built Environment detailing a string of petty thefts where mobile phones, wallets, and other personal effects were stolen.

However, a 28” television, along with a ceiling projector, were also stolen. The emails warn the recipients not to leave office doors unlocked given that items were going missing.

Along with the email, an image is also being circulating depicting a man in sunglasses – the individual suspected of being the person responsible for the string of thefts.
