Horse racing season resumes on 13 September

The MRC Council would like to inform all owners and drivers that the main racetrack is currently closed for training due to summer maintenance. The racetrack is expected to reopen on Monday 19th August and will be open for training sessions as follows:

Monday - from noon onwards
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday - from early morning till 09:00 a.m. and from noon till 7:00 p.m.
Friday - from noon onwards
Saturday - from early morning till 09:30 a.m.
Sunday - from early morning till 08:00 a.m. and afterwards there will be the auto test starts
From 09:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. the track is open for thoroughbreds (flat racing horses)

The autostart test starts on Sunday mornings will resume as from Sunday 1st September.

It is very important that everyone adheres to these timings in order to avoid disciplinary action. We would also like to remind all owners that the old racetrack is open for everyday training.

The MRC Council would also like to inform everyone that the horse racing season will be resuming on Friday 13th September with registrations for normal trot races over the 2140m distance and a flat race over the 1250m distance taken the week before as usual.

In the racing programme prepared until the end of the year, there are several championships like the Autumn Championship, the championship sponsored by the SECF and the President's Cup for trotters as well as the Johnny Walker Cup and the Coronation Cup for thoroughbreds. It is also planned that during December the Equestrian Festival will be organised - an event which was quite a success in the past.
