As they continued at a fast pace, it was Grima to reach the Finish Flag first followed by Zammit and Agius.

At 4.00pm ASMK Officers made their last minute preparations to start the car Demolition Derby under the logo ‘Inhabbtuhom ghall l-Istrina’ 18 cars registered for this once a year Demolition Race as cars are very difficult to obtain due to the new scrapping system. The crowd filled every inch in front of the Grand Stand to watch the Parade Lap followed by banging of all kinds. Yet, the most keen drivers are experts in banging and stopping other cars while producing minimum damage to their own cars while hoping to win this battled race. This event together with the day long races managed to raise €2406. 00 for the Community Chestt Fund – Istrina.

This year’s Demolition edition was won by Larkin Butler on an old Hillman Hunter race which survived all the punishment on track which lasted 33 minutes.
Moreover, though the Association prized Leo Butler as Runner-up on his BMW, it was later noticed though filming that a breach of rules had taken place. Thus, ASMK will be revising this situation which might lead to a change in the final result.
