In the first set FDL opened a 10-1 lead on PHC thanks mainly to Sara El Gasi's good services. FDL continued to put pressure on PHC with well-built attacks but PHC were now an improved lot and even managed to level the score. Nevertheless, it was FDL who won the first set 25-23.

The second and third sets again saw FDL starting on a positive note  with PHC trailing by four or five points. However, PHC were not to be subdued completely and powerful spikes by Alison Borg and Daniela Bonnici put the Paola side back in contention.FDL's coach, David Bonnici, tried to change their game by effecting some substitutions but PHC we in control and managed to win both sets 25-22, 25-16.

Once again FDL opened the fourth set with a better game and seemed in control but with good teamwork coming from PHC saw them winning the set 25-19.  This match saw Paola Hibs Candy winning their ninth consecutive league as well as their 26th consecutive cup in these last 9 years. The game was characterised by a number of unforced errors, especially by Fleur de Lys in their service.

In the second division league, Mellieha won against Tatara Rabat with a straight score of 3-0. Mellieha were always superior during the game with Mark Soler's girls playing a better volleyball than their opponents.
