The running order for the Eurovision song contest final has been announced and Malta will be performing first.

On Thursday, Michela Pace went up against 17 other countries in the second semi-final of the contest, victoriously making it through to the final. Dramatically, Malta was the last country to be called out. Ten countries made it through to Saturday's show from each of the two semi-finals.

While it's always nerve-wracking to open the show, research does suggest it could help Michela when it comes to voting.  Studies have shown that people tend to remember the first and last act, and are more likely to forget the middle group.
