Man charged with stealing from two cars

Christopher Briffa, aged 26 and without a fixed address was today arraigned before Magistrate Donatella Frendo Dimech on charges of having, in the night of October 27, stolen objects from two cars parked in Triq Mater Boni Consilii, Fgura.

Briffa was also charged with damaging one of the cars, with the damage amounting to more than €250, but not more than €2500. He was also charged with being in possession of stolen goods when he was apprehended.

Despite objections by the police, the court granted Briffa bail against a personal guarantee of €5,000.

He was ordered to sign-in at Rahal Gdid police station every day between 8.00am and 8.00pm, and to be home no later than 11.00pm.
