One TV presenter John Bundy confirms meeting with MEP Simon Busuttil and says the two had "tea" together in Balzan and discussed "real personal things."
Television presenter John Bundy has confirmed his meeting with Nationalist MEP Simon Busuttil, at a cafeteria in Balzan which he described as a "coincidence."
Earlier, MaltaToday revealed that Nationalist MEP Simon Busuttil who was recently appointed as the Prime Minister's special envoy responsible with organising the PN's reaching-out campaign had lunch with One TV presenter John Bundy at Papilllon restaurant in Balzan.
Bundy told MaltaToday "I was in Balzan since my brother owns a shop in the area and I asked my brother to lend me €20 as I needed to buy two electricity plugs. By coincidence I met Simon Busuttil as I was walking out of my brother's shop and he invited me for tea. In fact we had two teas and spoke about very personal things."
Bundy added that the two did not speak about politics or anything related to his work. He said that he was receiving many phone calls since MaltaToday published the report on the meeting.
He dismissed any speculation about his imminent departure from One TV and said "I will was, I am and I will remain contracted to One TV until the end of my contract which expires at the end of June."
The TV presenter added "There is nothing wrong to meet and have a tea with Simon Busuttil. There is no dishonour in meeting such persons as I respect everyone in life."
John Bundy a former PN employee and party sympathiser fell out of favour with the party. He then started fronting a programme, Affari Taghna, on the Labour Party's One TV in direct competition with TVM's flagship programme Xarabank.
