Birkirkara's impressive form continues in 4-0 win over Tarxien

Birkirkara's impressive form continued with another 4-0 win, this time against Tarxien Rainbows.

Birkirkara started the match as firm favourites after beating Luxol St. Andrews 4-0 in their previous encounter. On the other hand, Tarxien Rainbows were held by the newly promoted, Gżira Utd.

The stripes made a flying start as they managed to go in front after just three minutes. From a free kick, Srdjan Dimitrov delivered the ball towards Vito Plut, who headed past Andrea Cassar.

On the 15th minute, Cassar produced a good save to deny Birkirkara their second goal, as Frank Temile fired a close range shot that was parried by the Tarxien goalkeeper.

A minute later, Besek’s side doubled the score. From another free kick, Dimitrov fired a stunner that ended up in the top corner.

Three minutes into the second half, Tarxien managed to create a good opportunity. Rogelio's pass found Alex Nilsson, but the Swedish effort was saved by Kopric.

Few minutes later, Nilsson had another good chance to reduce the margin. From Pedro’s cross, the Tarxien striker fired a shot that went straight into Kopric.

On the 63rd minute, Birkirkara made sure of the three points when Vito Plut went forward, before finding Frank Temile.The Nigerian striker slotted home to make it 3-0.

Four minutes later, the stripes scored their fourth goal when Plut served Gareth Sciberras, who hit low past Tarxien goalkeeper.
