The Maroons breathed a sigh of relief as they brought an end to a number of disappointing results with a fine 3-0 win over Mosta.

Gżira went ahead on the 9th minute. From a corner, Ricardo Correa sent a cross inside the penalty area that was met by Mamadou Salieu Jallow who saw his header hitting the upright. Rafael Ledesma took charge of the rebound and finished inside the net.

Darren Abdilla’s side scored again on the 20th minute. Zack Scerri sent a through ball towards Juan Carlos Corbalan who fired a shot that ended up past Manuel Bartolo.

Gżira increased the margin of the score on the 39th minute. From a free kick, Gianmarco Conti sent a cross towards Souleymane Diamoutene and the latter headed past Bartolo once more.

On the 88th minute, Mosta suffered another setback as Njongo Priso was given his marching orders by the referee.
