Mosta’s game became difficult immediately as they were reduced to ten men midway through the first half after Njongo Priso was shown a straight red card following an argument with a team mate.

Floriana made the most of the situation and went ahead four minutes later. Mario Fontanella delivered the ball towards Ignacio Varela and the latter slotted it inside the net.

The Greens doubled the score on the 51st minute. Yenz Cini brought down Fontanella inside the penalty area and the referee pointed towards the spot. From the eleven metres mark, Sebastian Nayar made no mistake and finished home.

Giovanni Tedesco’s side increased the margin of the score on the 66th minute. Maurizio Vella sent a stunning shot from distance that gave Cini no chance.

Floriana kept on putting pressure on Mosta and scored another goal on the 85th minute. Ryan Camenzuli went on a good run and hit a low shot that ended up inside the net.
