St Andrews created the first chance on goal after one minute. Joseph Farrugia’s shot from a free-kick was blocked by Andreas Vella.

Vella had to alert once more on the 9th minute. Tano Azian received the ball inside the penalty area and hit a strong shot that forced a good save from Mosta’s goalkeeper.

Mosta replied on the 23rd minute. Martins Fernandes Christian Jorge saw his shot from inside the penalty area being neutralised by Matthew Calleja Cremona.

Mosta kept on insisting and lost a promising opportunity a minute later. Dabid Ifeanyi Nworah sent a through ball towards Dexter Xuereb who finished slightly off target from close range.

On the 32nd minute, Farrugia tried his luck from another free-kick, but his shot went over.

Four minutes later, Atkinson Kevaun of St Andrews sent a powerful shot that was once more saved by the young Mosta goalkeeper.

Farrugia had another attempt from a free-kick on the 58th minute, but his shot ended up over once more.

Moments later, Mosta lost an excellent opportunity. Henrique went inside the penalty area and delivered a low cross in the direction of David Zarate Bilbao who finished over from close range.

On the 60th minute, Mosta’s captain Kurt Magro sent a powerful volley from outside the penalty area that sailed over.

St Andrews replied on the 65th minute. Farrugia hit a shot from the edge of the penalty area that went centimetres off target.

Mosta broke the deadlock three minutes later. Ferreira went inside the penalty area down the right flank and was brought down by Miguel D’Alessandro. The referee signalled for a penalty and cautioned the St Andrews defender. From the eleven metres mark, Ferreira made no mistake.

Marko Glumac’s side tried to react immediately and created an opportunity through Aidan Friggieri. The substitute player won the ball inside the centre of the pitch, ran forward, and fired a shot that went over.

Vella produced an excellent save to keep Mosta ahead on the 81st minute. Friggieri hit a volley which was tipped behind by Mosta’s shot stopper.

Mosta were awarded another penalty on the 84th minute. Triston Grant fouled Ferreira inside the penalty area and the referee ordered another penalty. However, this time, Ferreira sent his shot off target.

Two minutes later, Friggieri hit a low shot from the edge of the penalty area that was saved by Vella.

St Andrews kept insisting in their attempts to equalise and went close on the 90th minute. Following a cross, the ball went into the path of the unmarked Grant who headed over.
