ASM to hold first races of 2013 next Sunday

First race of the ASM and Pasta Poiatti Autocross and Motocross National Championships starts at 11.00am. The Class A & B Autocross Finals are expected to be run at around 4.30pm. 

Christian Galea on his Fiat Ritmo is well ahead with 30 points. Patrick Cassar is Runner-up with 18 points on his Opel Corsa and Vince Farrugia is 3rd overall on his VW Polo with 11 points of the Autocross Class A.

Mario Scicluna on an Opel Corsa B is leading the highly competitive Autocross Class B with 19 points. Guzi Pace is Runner-up on his old faithful Escort Mk 1 with 12 points while Malcolm Borg is 3rd overall on another Corsa B.

The Gozo riders are also demonstrating their skills in their Autocross cars too. Marvic Vassallo and Christian Apap both on Ford Escort cars share equal place so far with 24 points each. 3rd placed Joseph Vella on a Ford Fiesta has 12 points.

The Motocross riders have only competed in one event so far. Clayton Camilleri is leading with 25 points on his latest KTM. Stefan Dimech on his Honda CR is runner-up with 22 points while Carmel Borg is 3rd placed on his Suzuki RM. All race points can change in the next 3 heats race on Sunday.

The Motocross Class B leader is Trever Muscat on a 250cc KTM with 25 points. Brandon Cassar Muscat on his Yamaha is 2nd with 22 points and Gozo rider Joseph Bigeni is 3rd overall on his Suzuki with 20 points.

On Saturday afternoon ASM opens the gates for free to all to watch the Autocross Practice sessions from 2.00pm. All motocross pre-race sessions end on Friday evening as Saturday is dedicated for track maintenance in preparation to Sunday's races.
