EGM to approve ASM circuit re-location contract

This week was a very busy week for Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi when a number of meetings were held for all ASM members in preparation to an EGM where all are expected to approve the ASM Racetracks Re-location to another site in Ta Qali.

This EGM will be held on Friday evening at the Excelsior Hotel in Floriana. ASM members will also be voting for emends to change a Statute clause and another emend to change the re-location contract too.

Signing this contract is going to determine and secure the ASM future. ASM Officers have been working hard on this issue and are happy that finally ASM has reached an agreement with the particular Government Departments concerned and following the latest Mepa Ta Qali Action Plan. The new ASM Ta’ Qali Offroad Motorsport circuits complex will be the first of its kind in Malta. More details will be delivered in due course.

Besides all this, ASM will be organising the 7th event of the ASM Pasta Poiatti National Championships for the Autocross and the Motocross too. Racing starts at 11.00am when the Motocross riders will be riding their Warm-up rides prior to the actual racing heats.

Last Sunday 20th January, the Trials section within the ASM held the 4th Trials Championship event. Although the weather was very bad during the week it was very kind on the competitors on Sunday morning. Yet the wet tracks created greater challenge to the competitors while combating the various Sections.
In Class A Damon Bonello rode his GasGas bike to his 4th championship victory by riding all the day’s Sections with the lowest penalty points. Alan Zahra on another GasGas bike won 2nd overall with 2 more penalty points to Bonello. Gary Debono on a Sherco placed 3rd in Class.

Rowed Bonello and Manuel Camilleri both on Beta gained equal penalty points through the first four Sections. From the 5th Section Camilleri began loosing balance on his bike so he made it possible to Rowen to win the Class. Jonathan Camilleri on another GasGas won 3rd place in Class.

It is important to note that the ASM Trials nursery is open to new riders at the ASM Racing Circuits. Lessons are held every Saturday from 3.00pm.
Practice sessions for the Autocross and Motocross event are held this Saturday 26th January from 01.00pm onwards and entrance is for free.
