New faces for ASM and trophies for its Champions 2011/12

On Friday 27th July 'Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi' (ASM) organised the Annual General Meeting for all its members and respective sections.

This meeting was held for the first time at the new 'Kumpless Sportiv' located in Kirkop. Last year's AGM and EGM Minutes and the 2011/2012 audited accounts were unanimously approved by all present.

ASM members also approved all the 9 ASM Statute emends concerning the inclusion of other clubs as new ASM members. ASM President Mr. Deguara stated that this is another step forward towards ASM as the UEM-FIM recognised Federation for all motorcycling sport and tourism in Malta.

During his Annual Report ASM president clearly stated that ASM is heading and reached new horizons where now it is made possible for all Maltese Motorcycle riders to participate in any Italian and European Motorcycle Championships through ASM. ASM lately attended the UEM Motorcycling Congress in Belgrade - Serbia.

This year's AGM included nominations from new personnel to further assist the Association in the vast areas created for its sections. John Micallef, Francis J. Azzopardi and Charles Camilleri were elected as Vice-President, Assistant secretary and Assistant Treasurer respectively for the coming year. John B. Cassar an ex-motocross rider is now Secretary to the Trials section and President to the Motocross section respectively. The Ad-Interim Trials committee is now elected by the respective members and last year's Autocross Committee was re-confirmed for the coming championship year.

It's interesting to note that all newly elected committee members were voted more the quota required by the ASM Statute. This is a clear indication that ASM in general and the ASM sections in particular are being strengthened year after year.  ASM President thanked all executive members and the 'AGM Voting Commission' which was led by Mr. J. Anastasi for their good performance during the members voting period and vote counting process too. Special thanks were directed to the 'Kunsill Malti ghall iSport' who offered one of the Kirkop Complex Halls for ASM to hold its AGM.

Also on Saturday 28th and following the AGM, ASM organised a special evening get-together in honour of the ASM Pasta Poiatti Championship winners. This was held at Ta Zakku unique beautifully converted stone quarry in the limits of Siggiewi. During this ceremony ASM thanked all sponsors, supporters and competitors too.
