Kayakers, members of the Malta Canoe Polo Club take part in annual Xmas Paddle aid of l-Istrina

More than 40 kayakers paddled their way across the Marsamxett Habour to Sliema Ferries in aid of l-Istrina.

Members of the Malta Canoe Polo Club were joined by members from the SeaKats, Dragon Boat Malta and Wave Ski Malta in this year’s edition of Paddle for l-Istrina. Around 30 kayakers left the Seakats club in Valletta and paddled from Marsamxett to Sliema before being joined by a crew of 12 rowers from Dragon Boat Malta.

The kayakers then went round the Sliema Waterfront as spectators looked on from the promenade.

Members of the Canoe Polo Club also gave watching spectators a taste of canoe polo during an impromptu possession game.

The next event organised by the Malta Canoe Polo Club is the Christmas Tournament which will be held on Monday 21st December at the National Pool, Tal-Qroqq.
