More medals for Maltese athletes at the Small Nations Games

Rebecca Sare’ won the bronze medal during the Women’s long jump. Apart from her, Matthew Zammit, Andrew Chetcuti and Michael Stafrace also secured bronze medals in the swimming discipline. These were also joined by the Maltese team of the Men’s 4 x 100 Medley Relay who placed third in the final.

Bronze medals were also won during tennis. Francesca Curmi and Elaine Genovese won a medal each in the Women’s Singles. In addition, Genovese together with Matthew Asciak placed third during the Mixed Doubles.

When it comes to silver medals, Chetcuti of swimming won his first silver medal during the Men’s 50m freestyle.

Finally, the highlight of the day was the women’s basketball team who secured gold following a thrilling match against Luxembourg.

The Small Nations games will continue till next Saturday.
