Sliema slip past Sirens, easy for Neptunes against San Giljan

Sliema McDonalds had to fight hard to register their fifth consecutive win on the trot while Neptunes easily beat San Giljan 15-7.

Sliema McDonalds had to suffer to beat an excellently organized Sirens side only winning by a solitary goal with Sirens also coming extremely close at the end. The first session saw Sliema take a 2-3 lead which was nullified by Sirens in the second session for both sides to go into the final two sessions 7 apiece.

However Sliema pulled three goals ahead at the end of the third session winning 4-1 with Privitera in particular evidence. Sirens made it exciting in the final session winning 3-1 for a final 10-11 scoreline which falttered Sliema but which leaves them on maximum points after five games.

In the second match, Neptunes Emirates had no difficulty in beating their neighbours San Giljan 15-7 winning all but the final session by three goal margins. In fact the first two sessions went Neptunes’ way 5-2 and 3-0 with Camilleri, Vuhjasinovic and Molnar in evidence.

The third session saw Neptunes win 5-3 with San Giljan by now giving up the ghost. The final session ended 2-2 but by that time, Neptunes were simply controlling the game and now join Sliema at the top of the table with five wins from the same number of matches.
