Slovakia and Malta finish in second place - Budapest 2014 qualifiers day 4 results

With day 3 of the Budapest 2014 qualifiers already concluded in the city of Tbilisi, Georgia the home side favorites remained unbeaten recording their second win in three matches as they got past Poland 16-10 on Saturday.

The opening match of day 3 in group A saw Great Britain convincingly defeating the Czech Republic 17-4. The final day in the Georgian capital will see an interesting conclusion of the 2014 qualification phase round 1 as three sides are looking to finish with the first two. Sunday's opening battle between Great Britain and Slovakia could proove to be decisive in the race for the two spots in the second round. The 2012 Olympic Games hosts will need a win to keep hopes of continuation towards Budapest alive. Meanwhile in Odens, Denmark the dominant Russians prooved to be the main candidate to make it all the way to the 2014 European Championships recording a blowout 5-21 win over Portugal on Saturday. They followed the example set by Malta who made no secret of their intention to make it to the next round crushing Bulgaria 24-7. Today's results are as follows:
