Sliema keep pressure on Neptunes

Ta’ Xbiex leave it late to defeat Marsaxlokk.

Exiles were made to suffer for missed opportunities. The Exiles players missed many clear scoring opportunities that could have won them the match.

Sliema could have scored more as well but it was the Exiles keeper Alan Borg Cole who kept Exiles in the game till the end.
Exiles had won the first session 2-1, but Sliema managed to get back in the game in the second session by winning it 3-1.

Sliema kept the momentum going in the third session, but Paris and Cousin put Exiles only two goals behind. Another attack from Sliema gave them a comfortable 9-6 lead by the end of the third session.
The final session ended 5-4 in Sliema’s favor to win the match 14-10. This sets up a fantastic match between Sliema and Neptunes on 4 September.

In the other match Marsaxlokk threw away a commanding 5-1 advantage to Ta’ Xbiex. By the end of the third session it was 10-6 in favor of Ta’ Xbiex.

The final session ended 2-2. With this result Ta’ Xbiex still have a slight chance to win the Second Division Championship.
