Sports betting company Meridianbet shows support on International Women’s Day

Meridianbet donates to the St Jeanne Antide Foundation (SOAR) on International Women’s Day

As International Women’s Day is celebrated yearly on 8 March, Meridianbet wants to help support this movement and continue helping to raise awareness on this pivotal cause. The sports betting company will be donating towards the St Jeanne Antide Foundation (SOAR).

In case you aren’t familiar with SOAR, it is a peer-support service that supports both children and women victims who survived domestic violence. SOAR aims to aid these victims by trying to help them restart their lives in the community through their daily lives. The SOAR services are led by trained and qualified fellow survivors, which helps let the women and children feel a sense of understanding as their mentors have also experienced and gone through the same or similar events. This allows them to understand the victims on a deeper and more personal level. SOAR runs every week and offers creative, social and learning group activities. To help keep their groups focused and engaged, they also offer a range of services, projects, programmes and as mentioned, activities.

After having opened seven years ago, SOAR has grown and expanded greatly and is now a multi-service unit, which makes up part of the St Jeanne Antide Foundation. The organisation has an open-door policy, which means that in case there is a drop-in member of the community who feels they require help, they are more than welcome to visit.

On 25 March at the Sacred Heart School Auditorium, the Joy Gospel Singers along with the Phylisienne Brincat Choir, the Swieqi Academy Orchestra and Chris Grech, will come together and perform in aid of the St Jeanne Antide Foundation. Tickets are €10 and will be used as a donation to the foundation.

Meridianbet “strives to ensure equal opportunity for everyone, irrespective of race, nationality, age or gender…” Taking human rights and equal opportunity for all very seriously, Meridianbet has 60% of their senior management roles occupied by women and wants to share their message and belief that International Women’s Day doesn’t just resonate strongly with their staff, but is also very personal and close to the company’s core values.

Meridianbet has both taken part in and donated to a very impressive number of donations, charities and organisations and wants to help the community in any way it can. Giving back to those who are less fortunate is important to the company and they will continue to do so as well as raising awareness to fight for what is right and bring justice where required.
