Two men charged over 2005 murder

Two men charged with murder of Sion Grech in 2005.

Two men were arraigned in court yesterday evening and accused of the murder of Sion Grech, who was murdered in Marsa in 2005. 

Faical Mahouachi, a 42-year-old Tunisian national and Ismael Habesh, a Libyan national, also 42, both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Habesh, currently serving time at the Corradino Correctional Facility but coincidently due to be released from prison yesterday and Mahouachi were both denied bail.

Sion Grech was found dead in a field in Marsa after being stabbed about 20 times.

Grech was reported missing on 5 April 2005 and was found on 13 April in an advanced stage of decomposition.

The two men were accused of relapsing and remanded in custody and their assets were also frozen.
