Motorcyclist grievously injured in traffic accident

A motorcyclist was grievously injured after he was involved in a traffic accident in Birzebbuga.

The incident occurred in Triq Hal Far, Birzebbuga at about 11:35am, when a Suzuki motorcycle being driven by a 46-year-old man from Birkirkara collider with a Toyota Auris before crashing into a wall.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital where he was certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Elsewhere, in another traffic accident, a 50-year-old from Marsaskala was also grievously injured when his Toyota Yaris overturned following a collision with a Toyota Starlet driven by a 34-year-old male.

The accident took place at about 1:30pm in Triq id-Dolmen, Qawra.

Police investigations are ongoing.
