Updated | Fire reported at Mt Carmel hospital, patients evacuated

Members of the Civil Protection Department and ambulances from Mater Dei Hospital rushed to Mount Carmel Hospital this evening as reports of a fire came in.

Investigations however revealed that a mattress had been put on fire but it was soon put out.

The police’s communications office confirmed that there were no reports of injured persons while a small number of patients were evacuated.
