Motorcyclist suffers grievous injuries following Swieqi collision

A German man was injured early this afternoon after being involved in a traffic accident St Andrew’s Street, Swieqi.

The 59-year-old was driving his BMW motorcycle toward St Julian’s when a collision took place with a Peugeot being driven by 20-year-old man, resident of Gharghur, in the same direction.

An ambulance conveyed the motorcyclist to Mater Dei hospital to receive treatment, where it was later declared that he was suffering grievous injuries, although he was not critical.

The young man driving the car suffered no injuries.

Police investigations are under way.
