Three members of the police force and another man were injured in a traffic accident this morning.

The collision took place at 8:00am on Rue D’Argens Road, a corner before Sliema Road, in Gzira, between a police car, a Ford Focus, and a private vehicle, a Ford Fiesta.

The 54-year-old driver and the 25-year-old police constable resident of Santa Venera who was behind the wheel, together with a police sergeant, 35, resident of Gzira, and a female constable, 24, resident of San Gwann, where conveyed to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance.

It was later declared that that the 54-year-old driver was grievously injured while all three polices officers suffered minor injuries.

A 20-year-old male passenger in the Ford Fiesta was unharmed.
