Strong financial record gives ‘sole guarantee’ of free healthcare – PN

Nationalists take Joseph Muscat to task over claims that Labour will keep public healthcare free.

The Nationalist Party has accused Labour of using healthcare as a smokescreen for its "disastrous" financial record in government, referring to claims by Opposition leader Joseph Muscat that a new Labour government will keep public healthcare free.

"It's only the PN that can guarantee free healthcare thanks to government finances having been on such a sound footing for the past five years, with €1 million invested in people's health every day and hundreds of free medicines, include for cancer, dispensed to people."

The PN said Labour had to make its own guarantees of free healthcare after a disastrous short-lived government in which its bad finances forced it to levy "a tax on illness".

"Labour introduced payments for healthcare and party candidates like Franco Mercieca and Edward Scicluna, who are favoured by Joseph Muscat, have already said they are against free public healthcare."

Pop goes the bubble! If it were not for the debt of 6 billion and EneMalta's debt of 800 million, the 'feel good factor' that Dr Gonzi boasted about, would not have been achievable: GonziPN never created wealth: it created debt to fuel its spending spree! I am not ideologically committed and frankly speaking if it were not for the lies about the debt and the siphoning of resources from the 85,000 new poor to a fist full of billioners, I would not give a dam, but givin that I can't put up with their lies and deceit, I am voting for change; to get rid of the clique!

WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP. Finanzi fis-Sod when even the European Commission forced Gonzi's government to reduce the spending in the last budget that was approved - resulting in € 60 million decrease in the budget for Health, Education, and other entities. Finanzi fis-Sod when Moody's and S & P have downgraded the performance of the GONZIPN Government time and time again, with the latest downgrade just a few days ago. GONZIPN tries to push the blame on the PL for not voting in favour of a confidence vote for the Government - what about the previous steady downgrades that Malta has been receiving almost every 6 months from the Credit Rating agencies. Why do they assume that our People have short memories and are so gullible as to believe all these lies. At the 2008 election we were also regaled with bill boards pronouncing finanzi fis-sod only to be consistently taxed black and blue once they remained in power. The Maltese economy has been bled by the GONZIPN clique to the point where every single individual in Malta (except the Clikka) are feeling the heavy handedness of their Finanzi Fis-Sod.

GonziPN still using scare tactics as an election campaign, demonstrates that they have NOTHING new to offer, except, maybe, even more debt.

Gonz, there is a vast difference between spending and investing. After all these years, you still need to learn the difference! Throwing money at problems have got you into the financial mess you will bequeath Malta. Like a typical civil servant you gauge performance by the amount you spend. That is only one factor, and a minor one at that, in gauging investment performance.
