Malta regrets Iran’s expulsion of British ambassador
Malta’s foreign minister Tonio Borg has expressed regret at the Iranian Parliament’s vote to expel the UK Ambassador.

In a statement issued by the foreign office in Valletta, it was said that the Maltese government "sincerely hopes that the Iranian Government will not follow through on this decision in order to
avoid further consequences associated with this incident and that efforts are focused instead on
pursuing dialogue with the international community on issues of common concern."
The Maltese Government also condemns in the strongest possible terms yesterday's attack and ransacking of the UK Embassy in Teheran which is it considers to be "totally unacceptable."
