Arriva workers granted lunchtime break on Christmas and New Year

All employees at Arriva Malta will be spending their lunchtime away from work between noon and 3.30pm on Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The General Workers' Union expressed its satisfaction that "all Arriva employees will be with their families for lunch on Christmas and New Year's Day".

Arriva has accepted the call made by the GWU for the public transport to be halted between noon and 3:30pm.

In a statement, the GWU said it is normal practice for public transport workers to stop during the mentioned hours. It added, Arriva's decision followed contact made with Transport Malta.
