US ambassador to Malta visits embassy in Washington
Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley, who was recently appointed as the new US Ambassador to Malta, paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Malta in Washington DC.
US ambassador to Malta Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley paid a courtesy visit to the Embassy of Malta in Washington DC last Thursday, during which she had a meeting with Dennis Grech, charge d'affaires.
She was accompanied by Mariju Bofill, Desk Officer for France, Malta and Monaco at the US Department of State.
During their meeting, Abercrombie-Winstanley and Grech briefly discussed the current state of the bilateral relations between the two countries which they both agreed are good and which have improved considerably in recent years. Grech referred to the coordination between the US and Malta during the crisis in Libya last year as well as to Secretary of State Clinton's visit to Malta.
Abercrombie-Winstanley said that she was looking forward to her assignment. Grech assured her that the Maltese Government is looking forward to working with her.
Grech also wished the new US Ambassador every success in her work in Malta and promised that the Embassy in Washington is ready to assist her in any way possible.
