Resources minister George Pullicino this morning visited ongoing works at the water park in Bugibba, which will be inaugurated on 23 June.

The €600,000 water park will consist of 17 water features spread over an 800-metres-squared land.

Pullicino said that the park will be opened during the summer months, until September, between 10am and 7pm.

The boat-shaped park will be divided into a number of zones, based on the children's ages.

The minister said that the water used would be recycled and stored in a reservoir beneath the park.  The water will be filtrated, and sterilised with UV and chlorine.

The park will be taking up to 50 children at one time, with different groups going in at different intervals.

The park will be equipped with CCTV systems, locker rooms and sanitary facilities.
