Large pebbles strewn all over Ramla l-Hamra ‘were dangerous to visitors, bathers’

Gozo Tourism Association welcomes clean up of Ramla l-Hamra, urges all those making use of beaches to respect the environment.

The Gozo Tourism Association applauded the authorities who took the necessary measures to clean up Ramla l-Hamra from large pebbles. These, the association said, had rendered the beach difficult to use and it was "posing a danger to visitors and bathers".

The GTA said the Xaghra Local Council took the lead to guarantee the necessary improvements to make Ramla l-Hamra a beach that can be enjoyed by both locals and foreigners alike.

The Gozo Tourism Association believes that the serious and balanced interventions on beaches will keep Gozo competitively marketable with so many emerging, enchanting destinations worldwide.

It also appealed to all concerned, the central and local government, the private stakeholders and the public ingeneral to look after the touristic product on the Island of Gozo.
