Chinese agreement negotiated under former PBS administration

Source says broadcast exchange with CCTV was created under Nationalist administration

An agreement that the Public Broadcasting Services is expected to sign with the Central China Television network, is a vestige from the last PBS administration, a government source has told MaltaToday.

The agreement was given front-page importance on the PN's organ In-Nazzjon, claiming that the broadcast sharing agreement and journalist exchange, was linked to the Maltese government's agreement with the China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) on a feasibility study for the construction of a bridge between Malta and Gozo.

A government source told MaltaToday the one-year agreement was brokered under a previous administration at PBS.
